Breakfast/Brunch in a well hidden part of Palos Verdes Estates
I have never traveled to this part of Palos Verdes before and I happened to go on a beautiful Saturday. It was actually sunny! Once you arrive at this part of the area, it makes you feel like you’re in old town Pasadena or Santa Barbara. This is a perfect spot to go for a casual brunch and then take a stroll around the neighborhood.

Warning: Service might be slow sometimes, but in all honesty, if you’re in a hurry during brunch… You shouldn’t really be doing brunch. Relax. Enjoy.

If you don’t want coffee, get the Arnold Palmer! It’s not just your typical Arnold Palmer, with the simple use of Lemonade and Iced Tea.

The Food

The Afternoon Crepe – I seriously love this dish. I got it two days in a row in fact. In France, Crepes aren’t just desserts, they can actually be eaten for breakfast or lunch. It can a hearty meal, not just sweet. The crepe is filled with chicken, carrots and green peas (or creamed spinach) with a creamy sauce on top. Imagine a chicken pot pie, and take out the thick pie crust and replace it with a thinner crepe, and that’s pretty much what it tastes like. A great item to have for brunch.

2 by 2 – Nothing really special here. 2 slices of French toast, 2 eggs, 4 slices of bacon, with roasted potates & fresh baguette. I liked their french toast, and this is a good portion breakfast.

The Stacker – Black forest ham, roast beef & roast turkey, tomato, avocado, provolone cheese, and italian dressing on a baguette. I really like this sandwich, although the baguette was a little hard on the outside that it tore the upperside of my mouth a tad bit. A great sandwich to have for lunch. The ingredients were well balanced and clean.

Conclusion

Yellow Vase is such a pretty and quaint little cafe that I see myself going to for brunch from time to time for the rest of my life. It feels timeless, especially at the Malaga Cove location. A nice relaxing long brunch is always nice to do when time allows it.
